Clues for Foods
Be an investigator! Using this chart, try to decode when your body needs nourishment! Be playful. Be fun. Be curious.
Neurodivergent and disabled folks may struggle with nourishment. This can be due to co-occurring differences such as Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID), difficulty perceiving/interpreting/responding to internal body cues (interoception difficulties), and other neurodivergent traits not limited to executive functioning differences, hyperfocus, and hyperfixations.
This chart divides "clues" that it is time to eat into three categories: Body Feeling cues, Action cues (behaviors), and Time cues.
This packet also includes a blank form to explore and create with the person if further individualization or exploration is needed.
